Duke Valdemar

King of the Western Kingdom, father of the twins Valdemar and Winfried. As a knight, the Duke prioritized the arms and martial skills, holding letters and arts in disdain as weakness by comparison. However, the Duke spent drastic time in the Gustave library poring over the scriptures read to him by priests. He is ruthless and callous towards the women in his family, treating them as political pawns. On his wife's funeral, he did not show much affect and is shown yawning over her sarcophagi.
