Due to her having trouble controlling her emotions, she had no choice but to pretend to be mean in order to not get close to anyone and so was never able to make friends. She also ended up not even being able to go to school much because of her problem. When she became a high school student she knew something had to change so she got a part-time job at a restaurant in order to get used to people and control her emotions better. It was here at her job she met Shintaro Tokumitsu and ended up making her first friend. Due to not being able to go to school that much she spent much of her time watching anime and reading manga.
