He is shown to be short-tempered and is arguably unintelligent for his impulsiveness. Although he is stubborn, he recognizes and isn't hesitant to use others' good judgment. Both Kousuke and Tomoaki were part of an alliance, with Kousuke acting as leader. Tomoaki resented Kousuke's disdain toward him, but was also aware and even reliant of the latter's knowledge of the game's dangers and the tactics used in it.
