Rikigouzan

About

A very famous professional wrestler and a former sumo wrestler who held the rank of Sekiwake. He is modeled after the real-life historical father of Japanese pro wrestling, Rikidouzan. Rikigouzan was widely hailed as the "King of Wrestling" throughout Japan due to his sheer size, immense physical power, and suprising agility. Within the series' lore, he served as the legendary trainer and mentor to other prominent heavyweight wrestlers, most notably Mount Toba. He also fought Yuuichirou Hanma in a massively hyped public match. Rikigouzan brutally beat and stomped Yuuichirou to a pulp, claiming victory. However, it was later exposed that the fight was rigged. Yuuichirou had intentionally thrown the match and faked his defeat. After Mitsunari Tokugawa discovered the truth about the fixed match, he confronted Rikigouzan in the Underground Arena. To punish hsi fraudulence, Tokugawa pited him against Doppo Orochi. Doppo absolutely dominated the wrestler, shattering his nose and executing a devastating Seiken punch to his chest. The strike caused severe internal hemorrhaging. Rikigouzan's life came to a tragic end shortly after when he was murdered on the street by Yakuza gangsters.
