Lili Ichijouin

Age: 20 An aspiring painter from Yokohama, Japan. When she was younger, she was moved by the work of Turner and dreamed of coming to England. Though her mother wishes for Lili to marry and inherit their kimono boutique, she allows Lili to attend Saint Thomas Art Academy in England as long as she becomes the top student within six months. As such, Lili forms a sort-of rivalry with the number one student, Kit, though it eventually becomes a friendship and then she develops a crush on him.

After returning to Japan, she believes Kit has died and loses the will to paint. Seeing Kit again after the war ends, Lili feels the inspiration to paint again and goes on to pursue her dreams in England once again.
