In the bonus chapter 22.2 it was revealed that the Kousaka's have survived and escaped from their apartment. He is now travelling with Sumire to fulfil their own bucket-list of "Places they want to visit before becoming a zombie.". Perhaps one day hoping to cross paths with Akira someday.
