Kodama

Kodama are tree spirits whose appearance is a sign of a healthy forest. They are portrayed as small, white humanoids with large, rattling heads and mask-like features. They appear to protect the forest but also lead Ashitaka out of the forest of the Forest Spirit with two wounded Iron Town workers. They are said to bring good luck.
