Because of this, Uenoyama invited him to join his band, along with Akihiko and Haruki. He plays the position of guitarist and vocalist in the band, and he also named the band "Given."

Mafuyu is deeply traumatized by the tragic suicide of his ex-boyfriend, Yuki. To overcome this trauma, Yuki's mother bequeathed Yuki's guitar to Mafuyu, who then became his companion in his music career.
