It was later revealed that Hitogami in fact was manipulating Rudeus the whole time for his own personal gains of getting rid of his enemies. Hitogami is the self-proclaimed "God of Humanity" and the sworn enemy of Dragon God Orsted.

In the alternate timeline, he was able to obtain Rudeus' trust in which he exploited to kill his family, bringing ruin to both Rudeus and the world.
